Math-Stat Wiki. for AU's Math-Stat faculty to discuss how they might improve the classes they are teaching.

Specific things that might be discussed here include:

  • What are clear and appropriate objectives for each course?
  • How can we teach to best meet our objectives?
  • How can we assess, fairly and accurately, how well each student meets each objective?

If you are unfamiliar with Wikis, note that pressing Edit above will allow you to add for change content of each page. You are encouraged to do this. No one can edit pages without a password. Only this page and the login page are accessible without a password. To get a password, send an email request to carver@american.edu, using your american.edu email address. Please indicate your desired user name. The computer send you a random password which you can change. I am only planning to give accounts to math-stat faculty. I want the discussion to be private among math-stat faculty. If there is a compelling reason for a different policy let me know.

Like Wikipedia each page has a Main page for content and a discussion page for discussion.

There are three ways to learn to use the software.

  • Click edit on this site and examine how something you see is done.
  • Click edit on Wikipedia (uses same software, though not all feature may be enabled here, talk to me to add features).
  • Google with the keyword Mediawiki.
  • Consult the User's Guide for information on using the wiki software.
